International Travelers

 

After you leave the aircraft, a corridor will guide you to escalators down to the arrivals level, which houses the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and immigration processing hall. You will follow a hallway illuminated by art installations to the next stop on the arrivals level, baggage claim. The baggage claim area is where members of the TNBC Conference Organizing Committee will be waiting to receive you. These individuals will be holding up large TNBC Conference signs so that you can spot them.  You will be transported to Hotel Indigo Downtown by a committee member or volunteer.

Domestic Travelers

 

OPTION 1: MARTA (Atlanta's mass transportation system)

MARTA is the easiest option because it brings you right to the door of the hotel. You don’t even have to cross the street! Getting to Hotel Indigo via MARTA may also be faster than taking a taxi.

 

Hartsfield-Jackson provides easy access to MARTA inside the airport. The station is nestled in-between the north and south baggage claim areas on the west end of the domestic terminal. A one-way MARTA pass can be purchased (using credit card payment) for $2.50 in the same area where you board the train. Your MARTA card is reusable and can be reloaded for the remainder of your visit.

 

To Hotel Indigo Atlanta Downtown (230 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, 30303)

  • From the airport station (S7 in the map below) go seven stops north to the Peachtree Center station (N1 in the map below)

  • At Peachtree Center, follow the signs to the John Portman exit at the north end of the station

  • Exit the fare gate and follow the signs to Peachtree Street West

  • At street level, turn right on Peachtree Street to reach the entrance of the hotel

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

OPTION 2: Uber and Lyft

While it is a longer walk to the Uber and Lyft pick-up areas, these services are available. The Uber and Lyft pick-up areas require a walk across the roadway, through the parking garage, and are located in the economy parking lots on both the Terminal North and South sides. Signs leading you to the Uber and Lyft pick-up areas are posted inside the airport.

Hotel Indigo is eleven miles from Hartsfield-Jackson Airport

  • Taking I-85N/I-75N, head towards Atlanta

  • Take exit 248C Freedom Parkway towards GA-10E/Andrew Young International Blvd./Carter Center

  • Use the left lane to follow signs for Andrew Young International Blvd./World Congress Center/Aquarium/Centennial Olympic Park and keep left

  • In less than half a mile, turn right onto Peachtree Street NW and Hotel Indigo will be on your left

Parking at the Conference

 

For parking, we suggest that you consider Georgia State University’s T Deck and M Deck. The hours for T and M Decks are 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM and the fee for parking is $7.00.

 

The entrance of T Deck is located at 43 Auburn Avenue. From T Deck, the entrance of Centennial Hall is a five minute walk east (.2 mile). Click here to view the walking map.

 

The entrance of M Deck is located at 33 Auditorium Place. From M Deck, the entrance of Centennial Hall is about 3 blocks north (.4 mile). Click here to view the walking map.

  • Follow airport signs to the Airport MARTA Station

  • Board the northbound train (either Doraville/gold or North Springs/red) 

  • Exit at the Peachtree Center Station (8 stops)

  • At the station, follow the signs to the John Portman exit at the north end of the station

  • Exit and follow the signs again to Peachtree Street W

  • At street level, turn right on Peachtree Street to reach the entrance to the hotel

 

FROM AIRPORT TO CENTENNIAL HALL VIA MARTA

  • Follow airport signs to the Airport MARTA Station

  • Board the northbound train (either Doraville/gold or North Springs/red) 

  • Exit at the Peachtree Center Station

  • Walk (approximately 8 minutes):

    • South on Peachtree St NW 

    • Turn left onto Auburn Ave NE

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE CARTER CENTER

From North of Atlanta:

1. Take I-75 or I-85 South to Exit 248C, which says "Freedom Parkway, The Carter Center."

2. Continue on Freedom Parkway about 1.8 miles, following the signs to The Carter Center.

3. As you loop around The Carter Center, follow the signs to entrance # 3 (Executive Offices).

From South of Atlanta & Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport:

1. Take I-75 or I-85 North to Exit 248C, which says "Freedom Parkway, The Carter Center."

2. Continue on Freedom Parkway about 1.8 miles, following the signs to The Carter Center.

3. As you loop around The Carter Center, follow the signs to entrance # 3 (Executive Offices).

From West of Atlanta

Follow the same directions as above or:

1. Begin on North Avenue.

2. Continue east (toward Decatur) on North Avenue until you come to N. Highland Avenue. You

will see a neon art gallery, a gas station, and Manuel's Tavern at this intersection.

3. Turn right onto N. Highland Avenue.

4. Go to the next light at Freedom Parkway and turn right.

5. The Carter Center is on the left. Continue on Freedom Parkway to entrance # 3 (Executive

Offices).

From East of Atlanta

1. Take Ponce de Leon towards downtown (west) to N. Highland.

2. Turn left on N. Highland.

3. Continue to the second traffic light at Freedom Parkway and turn right.

4. The Carter Center is on the left. Continue on Freedom Parkway to entrance # 3 (Executive

Offices).
